EPW - Unsigned English, fusee with very early table roller escapement, 55mm, silver OF original pair cases bearing Chester hallmarks for 1821-22, casemaker’s incuse “E.M” marking, cream colored enamel dial, KWKS, table roller lever escapement, 6J, diamond endstone, gilt mvt, floral engraved balance cock marked “Detach’d Lever,” gilt locking dust-cap, s#111. This interesting and very early example of a table roller has its roller with passing flat, not crescent, and both banking pins on the same side of the lever. Mvt: Ticking sluggishly after a twist to start and stopping occasionally, overhaul recommended, excellent cosmetic mvt condition overall, some fine and micro-fine scratches; dial with chip between 4 and 5, small hls at edge near 9; fine hands, minute is a lighter style replacement of different color and has some bends; outer case shows light wear, a light patina, dent on bezel at 5, very slight mild dent toward lower left of rear, button latch is non-functional as end of latch is missing; inner case shows light wear, some small nicks around perimeter; bow pivots freely; good glass crystal.
